For 4x4 parts (likes transfer etc) it depends on the vehicule : differents parts are existing for the same model. By example rear and front axle can be Hurth, Ponticelli or Renault, same thing for gear boxes, etc

I think the only way is to look at the papers of the vehicle, and it should also be written on the small add. In general they are a bit cheapper because you need a truck licence to drive it.
I already heard about B120 4x4 in England but I'm pretty sure that doesn't exists in France.

2.8 engine is the bigger one, for B110. For B90 it's a 2.5 engine. I only saw diesel engines, I don't know if it exists in gasoline... And I don't know the exact weight but 3 tons looks normal for that kind of vehicule. Considering the complete transfer, the stronger shock absorber, heavier wheels and all 4x4 stuff it's almost 1 ton heavier than the same in 4x2.

I've never heard about a special weakness on that point, but I'm not sure.
About fuel economy there are kits existing like ecopra, etc. but I can't tell you exactly how much it saves.
The forum is quite calm that moment because of hollidays but you should try to open a thread in the part of the forum dedicated to B90/110, you'll have answers from owners of that vehicles (more precises than mines !).
